Volunteer Information Session

THANK YOU for choosing to volunteer at Wayside Waifs!
At our information sessions you’ll get the chance to learn more about the programs and services of Wayside Waifs, plus what you can expect as a volunteer. After some Q&A, you can decide if volunteering at Wayside is the right fit for you. A tour of the shelter is offered as well.
**Please note at this time we are only accepting volunteers with weekday availability between the hours of 7am-5pm. The latest volunteer shift available is 3-5pm**
Informational sessions take place at the Wayside Waifs campus in the Education and Training Center located at:
3901 Martha Truman Road
Kansas City, MO 64137
Please arrive in time to check in and find a seat. If you arrive after the information session has started, you will not be admitted. If you are coming to Wayside Waifs for the first time, please plan ahead. We strongly recommend that you arrive at least 10 minutes early. Please enter through the Education and Training Center. This is facility is located to the east of the main shelter entrance. The doors to the Education and Training Center are located on the west side and face the main parking lot. Someone will be there to greet you and direct you to an available seat.
We will break into small groups for a tour of the facility at the beginning of the session.

- Masks are encouraged.
- Guests will stay 6 feet apart, per CDC guidelines.
- Closed-toe shoes are required during the tour of the campus.
- For your safety, we recommend wearing tennis shoes or other sturdy, rubber-soled shoes.
- Long pants are strongly recommended.
