Bullying Prevention Month
Did you know that October is National Bullying Prevention Month? We’re happy that people all over are working to shed light on the importance of bullying prevention. Here at Wayside Waifs, we believe that every month is Bullying Prevention month as our education team delivers our No More Bullying! program to students in the Kansas City area. We’ve long recognized the connectedness between how we treat people and how we treat animals. Studies have shown that people who are hurting people will often times also be hurting animals. That’s why we’ve committed to do everything we can to prevent violence towards people and animals by helping students understand the importance and value in all living beings.
In honor of National Bullying Prevention Month, we are launching a month long campaign to bring awareness to the importance of violence prevention. Our educators have created a Bullying Prevention Toolkit for teachers and families (though we think that even grown up people without kids can get something out of it too!) Filled with fun activities like our “Kindness Generator” and a downloadable calendar with daily challenges, our hope is to use this month to create more kind habits. As we tell our students, the more you practice something the better you get. We hope you’ll join us as we work to create a more kind Kansas City!
Be sure to follow us on social media as we highlight what we’re up to this month.
