Family Nights at Wayside Waifs
Wayside Waifs’ Humane Education team strives to create educational opportunities for everyone in our community and engage with people of all ages in our mission to practice kindness and compassion for all. With those goals in mind, Family Nights at Wayside are for adults, children, and families alike! Registration is required for all of these events and space may be limited. These events change regularly so check back often for new program opportunities.
While there is no set fee for our programming, we do ask that you consider making a donation. Your contributions allow us to continue these educational efforts.
Kitten Tai Chi
June 16, 2026 | 6:45pm – 7:45pm | On-site | Adults & children in kindergarten or older
Unwind with a relaxing Tai Chi session on June 16 from 6:45-7:45pm – made even better with curious kittens exploring alongside you! Tai Chi is a gentle “moving meditation” that blends slow, flowing movements with deep breathing to support both physical health and a calm mind. No experience needed. Your visit includes a behind-the-scenes tour, a fun introduction to cat body language, and 30 minutes of soothing Tai Chi and meditation. Come stretch, breathe, and enjoy some peaceful time with our feline friends! Registration is required.
Goal Home Summer – Families Edition

Help us celebrate Goal Home Summer in honor of the World Cup on July 1 from 5:30-7pm! Dribble on down to Wayside for a soccer-themed night of family fun! Participants will leave the sidelines to tour the shelter as well as participate in activities like games, crafts, and volunteer projects. Registration is required.
Virtual Enrichment 101 Seminar

Are you looking to enrich your pet’s life, reduce their anxiety, exercise their brain and body, and prevent their boredom? The VIRTUAL Enrichment 101 Seminar, hosted by Wayside Waifs animal shelter, is perfect for you! Seminar takes place on July 28 from 5:30-6:45pm. Led by a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and a Humane Educator, we’ll be discussing why and how we can implement enrichment without breaking the bank! Once you’ve registered, we’ll send you a link to the Zoom call! Registration is required.
Family Trivia Night

Join us for a paws-itively fun family trivia night on August 13 from 5:30-7pm! Put your knowledge to the test with interactive questions all about animal care, responsible pet ownership, and the many ways Wayside helps our community. With friendly competition and plenty of laughs, it’s the perfect way for families to learn, play, and bond over their love for animals. Registration is required.
