Host a fundraiser!
Because of the help of our corporate and community partners, Wayside Waifs is able to help thousands of animals who come through our doors each year. One way in which you can lend support is by hosting a fundraiser with the proceeds benefiting Wayside!

Here are some ideas:
- Go casual for the paws! Host a casual day at the office. For a suggested donation, you and your co-workers can don denim for the dogs and cats!
- Host a cutest pet photo contest in your office or department. We will post the winner on our Facebook page!
- Children can get into the giving spirit too! Many of our contributors come from Girl or Boy Scout troops, youth groups, and school groups and host wish list drives, bake sales, or lemonade stands on our behalf.
- Do you love to dine and/or shop? Many of the shops and restaurants will host a “Wayside Day” and donate a percentage of proceeds during a predetermined time back to Wayside Waifs.
Do Good Co.
Do Good Co. is a nonprofit organization in Kansas City that donates proceeds to Wayside Waifs and KidsTLC. Shop year round and help the animals in our care at Wayside Waifs!
Over the years, Do Good Co. has raised thousands of dollars to the shelter.
12 Bars of Charity
12 Bars of Charity is back in Kansas City this year on Saturday, December 16 2023. Located in the Power & Light District, join Wayside Waifs and other local charities for an afternoon of fun!
In 2022, Wayside was the winning organization with the most participants and raised an additional $1,000 for the animals in our care.
HamBINGO at Hamburger Mary’s
HamBINGO is a weekly charity event held in Hamburger Mary’s dining room. Hosted by some of Kansas City’s most fabulous drag queens, this is not your typical “grandmas bingo”. The show can get a little risqué, but it’s all about having fun while supporting local charities.
Wayside Waifs has been participating for years and has raises more than $4,000 each year. Join the fun and check the calendar for upcoming HamBINGO events. Wayside typically participates in 2-3 a year.
Fur Ball
Long hailed as one of the most popular and downright FUN social events in Kansas City, Fur Ball is Wayside’s largest fundraiser, raising significant funds that directly support life-saving programs and services. Featuring a different theme each year, guests enjoy a gourmet dinner, 10 hosted bars, amazing silent and live auctions, and live entertainment. 100% of the proceeds from this event save thousands of abandoned, abused and homeless animals.
In 2023 Fur Ball raised $2.3 million for the shelter animals! Save the date for the 2024 Fur Ball on May 11, at 5:30 pm. You won’t want to miss it! Table sponsorships are available now starting at $2,500. Contact Paige Cooper for more information.
