Once again, it’s time to meet our Waifs of the Week: Marley, Jon, and Barney.

This is Marley, a handsome one-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix. His first trip to Wayside was when his old shelter ran out of space for him, but he came here and got adopted. He was recently returned because he ended up being a little too energetic for their needs, but that’s okay! He am ready to find his true forever home with you! Here are a few things to know about him! He does know the command sit, but he is ready to learn so much more. He is food and praise motivated, so you can break out a yummy treat, or just tell him how good of a boy he is. He does great on a leash, and has become an excellent walking companion. He’s active and playful, so he’ll need a home where he can get regular exercise and playtime. He does need to work on his Basic Obedience training, but he is ready to learn with a dedicated teacher! Another positive about him is that he is crate trained and completely housebroken! He’d like to think that is a great achievement. He did like the dog in his previous home, and he did all right with cats. He still asks that you bring in your dogs to meet him so we can make sure you are a good fit! If Marley seems like the perfect dog for you, come down to Wayside and meet him!

You can learn more about Marley here.

This is Jon, and he is a very handsome black and white tuxedo male, so he is always dressed to impress! He came to Wayside as a stray, and while the great big yonder was ok, he is ready for a person and home to call his own! He is a cat that needs lots of play time! He is a young, strong feline who needs an adult only home to keep up with his own version of ninja warrior!  Being here at Wayside, he found out that his felineality is sidekick, which fits him to a tee!  Being a sidekick means that he is looking for a partner who shares his need for playtime interaction and respect when he is ready for some time alone!  Words he would use to describe himself are intelligent, affectionate, independent, and energetic! He would love to show you his soul eyes in person, so please come on down!  Just ask for the Big Cat on Wayside Campus!

You can learn more about Jon here. He also has a video, which you can view here.

This is Barney, a handsome two-year-old Labrador/Retriever mix. He originally came to Wayside from another local shelter that ran out of space for him, but that is all right, because he’s doing just fine! He is on the search for a forever home, and maybe that’s with you! He does enjoy his independence, but he also would love some relaxation time with you! He’s an energetic boy, and he would benefit from Basic Obedience training. He would also do best in an active home, but he’s heard he’s a great walking/running partner. Because he’s so energetic, it would be best if he went to a home with a high fence. He can make it over little ones; he’s just so playful! He’s also smart, but he would enjoy learning new things! He’s toy motivated, so break out those squeaky toys and he’s ready to go! He’s proud to say he’s crate trained and housebroken, and he think that’s pretty amazing! He also would love to be the only animal in the home, because he wants to be your only furry friend! The staff at Wayside said he could learn to do well with other dogs, but he needs practice first! He thinks when he learn Basic Obedience; he will start to do better! If Barney sounds like the one for you, come visit him today!
