Please welcome our Waifs of the Week: Brutus, Jammers, and Red Boy!
“Hi everyone! The name’s Brutus, and I’m a two-year-old handsome boy! I was brought to Wayside Waifs as a stray, wondering the streets, until the wonderful animal control officer picked me up and brought me here. I couldn’t be more grateful for a warm place to sleep! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. Yes, I have wonderful brown markings and striking brown eyes. Let me tell you I am also extremely smart! I know the commands come, sit, shake, down, and stay. WOW! I love treats, toys, and praise, and I am ready to learn more with you. I’m a goofy and lovable guy who likes spending time with people. I get a little jumpy when playing, so having owners used to my play style and size will be essential. I’m a big boy, so I want you to feel comfortable walking me and hanging out with me. I ask that you walk me with a harness to be on the safe side! Based on some of my meetings with dogs here, we ask that I go to a home with no dogs, no cats, and no little furries running around. I know it’s a lot to ask, but I am a sizable guy and I don’t want to hurt anyone! I am a confident boy in new situations, so I would love to meet you! Thanks for reading about me. I’m a real sweet boy and I’m just looking for my peeps. Come out to Wayside and ask for Brutus; you will not be disappointed.”

“Hey you! Thanks for clicking on my photo! I’m Jammers and I am 5 years old. My old owners brought me to Wayside a little while ago because it just wasn’t the right time for them to have a pet. It’s been hard not having them around anymore, but I’m learning to get back on my feet. I enjoy playing, cuddling, but, most of all, socializing! They call me a Leader of the Band around here because I love meeting new people and making new friends. I am very friendly and sweet towards adults but I’m not quite sure about little humans just yet. They tend to be loud and handsy which can be a little overwhelming at times. I prefer a home with people over 10 years old and no other cats, I want to be the center of attention! In return for your cooperation, love, and treats I will be sure to give you lots of headbutts, kisses, and purrs! A pretty good trade off if you ask me. What’s not to love? I’ll do great in the litter box, I’ll happily greet your guests, and overall be an amazing companion. Hope to see you soon!”

“Who could resist a big dog named Red Boy? I’m 59 pounds of sweetness and would love to meet you. I may be a little shy at first but I warm up quickly and you’ll see how affectionate I am. I soak up attention from people and have a lot of love to give right back! That’s why I’m hoping to quit the shelter life and find a loving family ASAP! I’m a confident guy and will show you how I sit on command and come when called. If you want to teach me more commands I’d be delighted, especially if you reward me with a yummy treat or two! Would you like a companion to take walks with you? I want to see everything there is to see on walks (it’s so exciting out there) and with your help to improve my leash skills, I can learn not to pull and become your perfect walking buddy. And when we come home, we can settle in for a great belly rubbing session! I’ve met a couple dogs here at Wayside and have shown I’m pretty cool in that situation. (Actually, I’m more interested in people!) If you have other dogs at home, I hope you’ll bring them when you come to see me. That way we can make sure we all get along! Do me a favor…come soon so we can see if we belong together. I’m thinking it’ll be a win!”
