Happy Waif Wednesday! Meet our fabulous Waifs of the Week: Archer, Gumbo, and Scooby. These three lovebugs can’t wait to find their forever families!
Hey! I’m Archer! I’m a shy sweetie pie with big eyes and an even bigger heart. I’m 2 years old, and I came to Wayside as a transfer from a partner shelter when they ran out of space, and now, I just can’t wait to find my forever family!
I’m kind of fearful and timid when I first meet someone, but don’t you worry! I’ll warm up to you with some time to sniff out the situation and make sure everything is safe and ready to go. I just need a patient person who will love me as I learn! I love people, but sometimes I get scared and don’t like being touched, restrained, or grabbed when I’m not expecting it. I’m making lots of progress thanks to my friends here at the shelter, but for now, I would do best in a home without kids under 5 years. But like I said, I do love people! I love playing and getting pets, just on my own terms. I’m pretty good at walking on a leash, but I don’t know any commands yet. I’m very food motivated, though, so I know that with your help, I’ll be super duper smart and on top of my game in no time!

Pleased to meet you! My name is Gumbo. It suits me because I’m warm and will add spice to your life! I’m a big, rugged, handsome buff-colored tabby with the most adorable baby face. I like toys, but really, I just want to be loved on. I’ve been told that I’m easy to love because I’m so cute and sweet!
My favorite thing to do here at Wayside is lounge around in my bed. I like to curl up in it sometimes. Other times I like to stretch out and cock my head a little, especially while someone is talking to me. It shows that I’m listening to everything you have to say to me. I’m a great listener, and your secrets are safe with me!

Hi there, friends! My name is Scooby, and like Scooby-Doo, I would love to be part of your gang and go on adventures together. I’m a smiley guy, with brown and white fur and freckles on my nose. I came to Wayside from another shelter, and moving has been pretty scary for me, but everyone here is so nice. They want me to be as happy and healthy as possible so I can go home with my fur-ever family!
I love meeting new people and dogs! My new friends here say that I’m a friendly sweetie pie. The only command I know right now is “sit,” but I’m very treat (Scooby Snack) motivated, and I’m excited to learn some new tricks with my new family. I walk really well on a leash, too. I can’t wait to get started on being best friends fur-ever!
