Our thoughts are with everyone who is going through the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. Please be safe! With that being said, it is time for our weekly Waifs of the Week: Big Sis, Bond, and Creole.

Meet Big Sis, a seven month old Retriever and Lab mix. She was originally brought to Wayside when her previous shelter ran out of space for her. That is okay, because she is very eager to find her forever home. She can be a little shy at first because she has not been around a lot of people. She is a sweet girl, she will just take some time to get to know you! If you have another dog, she also gets more comfortable and confident as long as they get along. Once she trusts you, she is incredibly sweet and affectionate. Cuddle/snuggle time is her favorite, and she just loves being doted on. Because of her shyness, she asks that she goes home without kids under the age of five. She has a lot of love to give, she just needs help with expressing it! With that said, she needs someone who can help her with basic obedience training, and someone who is patient to help her overcome her shyness. She is ready to learn and love with you! Does Big Sis sound like the one for you?

Bond. Just Bond. Bond is a one year old tuxedo cat. If Wayside had a category for “best all around” cat, it just might be him! He has a wonderful purr, but you’ll have to come meet him to find out! He is a great free-roamer in our Cat Adoptions area, as he enjoys going on adventures. While he is a confident boy, he also enjoys being a lap cat! If you come to meet him, he does reside in the lower kennels, so if you sit with him, he will probably hop in your lap, if you don’t mind! He does have a special walk, due to a previous injury to the back tendon. It does not slow him down at all, though. You should see him run! He is a smart, inquisitive guy, who is searching for his people. Is that you?

You can learn more about Bond here. He also has a video, which you can view here.

This is Creole, a stunning two year old Coonhound mix. He was originally brought to Wayside after his previous shelter ran out of space for him. He is cool with that though, because he has had a blast here! He’s super friendly, and is ready for a good home. He is a hound, so everything excites him and he has a lot of positive energy! Running is his jam, so he would do best in an active home where he gets extra playtime! He does not know any Basic Obedience yet, but he is very willing to learn! He would also benefit from mental stimulation, such as food puzzles, that can help use his positive energy and gets him thinking. With all this energy, he is also the biggest sweetheart. A perfect combination! Come out to Wayside to see for yourself!
