It’s time to meet our Waifs of the Week: Lady, Dolly, and Socks!
Meet Lady! She’s a sweet and curious girl! She is rather shy, but is ready to start a confident life with you. The little things in life make her the happiest and no one is more grateful for a simple routine day than Lady. Her life has not always been a bed of roses, but she is starting to smell the flowers! She is a stunning five year old Labrador Retriever mix. She is already crate trained, and partially housebroken. Lady originally came to Wayside as a transfer when her old shelter ran out of space for her. Shelter life was not very easy for her. Thankfully, her foster mom volunteered to house her while waiting to be adopted, so she could learn love in a home environment. She has thrived in foster, as her foster mom said she is a sweet soul. She is learning new things everyday and learning how to trust! Things like car rides and thunderstorms and even vacuums are scary to her. Her foster mom is with her through it all, and constantly reassures her when she is unsure, and she will need that in her permanent home. While she would rather be by your side than in a crate, she is still unsure of her surroundings so it will help her anxiety more if you leave for work. She does need to be supervised, but is learning constantly. She loves to play with toys and cuddle with her foster family. She sleeps well on her dog bed, hardly making a peep! She is so polite and sweet. She loves her daily walks, but is still learning how to walk with a leash and harness. She is enjoying playing in her foster family’s fenced in yard, and her confidence is growing! She enjoys the company of other dogs because they make her feel secure and confident. Having another furry friend will help her transition into a new home better! She has come so far from when she first arrived, so please consider Lady for your calm and quiet house!

Meet Dolly, a beautiful dilute Tortoiseshell cat who is a one-year-old. She’s not working nine to five, but she will always love you! She’s actually had a litter of kittens, even though she is very young herself. She came to Wayside with her litter in hopes of a better life, and she is ready to meet you! She might be bashful at first, but she is a sweet, loving girl. Our Feline-ality assessor deemed her a “Personal Assistant,” meaning she is ready to be by your side and help you with anything! She will be the most happy when she’s with you! Dolly is ready for her forever home, are you ready to meet Dolly?

This is Socks, a sweet five year old Retriever and Shepard mix. He weighs in at roughly fifty pounds. He is a smiley guy, and gets so excited when people are around he can’t help but show his pearly whites! He is so happy to be looking for his forever home. Socks originally came to Wayside when he and his siblings were rescued from a hoarding situation. He is the second to go up for adoption, so he is really proud of that. He was very anxious and scared when he first got here, as was the majority of his siblings. He was enrolled in our Confidence College program to gain confidence. He did so well in the program that he is graduated and ready to find his peeps! He will still be shy and anxious in a new home, so he asks that you take your time with him and help him adjust to a new environment. His preference would be a calm, quiet home with older children-he is unsure of little ones. Socks understands he is asking for a lot, but he believes the right people are out there.
