It’s time for our Waifs of the Week: Kiki, Pumpkin, and Scout!

This is Kiki, a three year old American Staffordshire Terrier/Pitbull Mix. At fifty-eight pounds of fun, she was found wandering the streets until a good samaritan picked her up. That was so nice! After her experience, she is ready to meet the family of her dreams! She is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves people. She is also really strong, but she just enjoys being active. The team at Wayside is working with her on not being so jumpy, and she is improving everyday! She already knows the commands sit and come, and she is extremely motivated to learn new things. Pass her some yummy treats, give her a toy, or just give her a compliment, and she is good to go! She can be a handful, so she would prefer a family that has experience with high energy dogs, and a family that will help her continue to train. She would never want to accidentally knock a small child over, so she respectfully asks for a family without children under the age of five. Does Kiki sound like the one for you? Come meet her today!

You can learn more about her here.

This sweet girl is Pumpkin, and she is a gorgeous six year old red and white tabby. One thing you should know about her is that she is declawed. She originally came to Wayside when her old shelter ran out of space for her. She is ready to find her forever home, and maybe it’s with you! She is a sweet, friendly girl, who loves to be petted. She loves talking to people, and she is an equally good listener. Her Felinality is Personal Assistant, meaning she wants to be around you and help you! While she is a sweetheart, she also loves to play. A wand toy is her favorite! Pumpkin season is just around the corner, but she is ready for a home year-round! Is that with you?

You can learn more about her here. She also has a video, which can be viewed here.

Meet Scout, a handsome one and a half year old Shepard mix. Fun fact about Scout; he’s housebroken! He is ready to find that perfect family. He was originally adopted from Wayside as a puppy, but his family had to surrender him due to them moving. He did get adopted again, but was found as a stray and brought back. He is a patient boy waiting for his opportunity. He is people oriented, and is very friendly. He walks well on a leash and harness, and he has quickly become a volunteer favorite. He is extremely playful, so he would prefer an active home where he can get daily exercise. He already knows sit, down, and come, and is ready to learn more! He is a smart boy and eager to please! He is treat and toy motivated, so give him some yummy treats and a toy to play with and he is ready to go! While he is playful, he loves to have some downtime and cuddle with you. He enjoys the company of other dogs too, in case you have one! He likes to have a buddy, so definitely consider bringing your dog out to meet him as well. Something you should know about him is that he was able to jump a three foot fence, so it helps to have a tall fence! He can get jealous over attention, so our adoption counselors will give you information on how to make it a smooth transition. Scout might be the one for you!

You can learn more about him here. He also has a video, which you can view here.

You can meet all of our Waifs of the Week and our adoptable pets during our adoption hours!
