Please welcome our Waifs of the Week: Shelby, Misty, and Merle!
This is Shelby, a gorgeous four-year-old Shepard mix. She was brought to Wayside after her last shelter ran out of space for her. She’s okay with that though, because she is ready to settle into her forever home! Shelby can be timid at first, as she wants to get to know you first. She can get very nervous around little kids, so she politely asks that she go to a home without children under the age of five. She takes a bit to really warm up and sometimes small children don’t understand that. She also needs to be the only dog in the home, just so she can be your main focus! She is very smart, as she already knows the commands sit, down, come, shake, and stay! She is food motivated, so give her some yummy treats and she will learn even more with you. She does very well on walks, and enjoys them too! While she does prefer a calm, quiet home, she is crate trained and housebroken, which is a bonus! Doesn’t Shelby sound awesome? Come meet her today!

Meet Misty, a 6 month old girl with a beautiful medium-length coat. She came to Wayside Waifs when her previous shelter was out of space. Since being here, Misty has made many friends among the staff, volunteers, and other cats! She has made so many feline friends, that she would love if her future home has one or will adopt another friend with her. She has the softest fur, and is known to be quite a lap cat. She is a sweetheart, and loves to be affectionate. She is still a young kitten, so she would love playtime as well as cuddle time! Do you have a nice window for her to do some bird-watching at your house? Or some mouse toys or wand toys? She would love all of that! Come meet her today!

Here is Merle, a handsome, Retriever/lab mix looking for a home. He was brought to Wayside Waifs after his last shelter ran out of space for him. Because of this, he is ready to move on to a different setting, like a forever home! Maybe that home can be with you! He is a friendly guy who is glad to meet any new person! Bring the whole family out, including furry friends, when you come say hi. He is a smart boy and loves to learn new things. He knows the command sit, but present him with a yummy treat and he is ready to learn more. He also enjoys going on walks and romping around.
