Please welcome our Waifs of the Week: Leonora, Jenny, and Matilda!

“My name is Leonora, and I am so happy you are reading about me. I am a 12 year old girl with a beautiful calico coat. I was transferred to Wayside Waifs when my previous shelter was running low on space. That’s okay, though, I’m happy to be here because that means I get another chance at finding my forever family, and I’m certain they will find me here! Now, I know I may not be a young kitten, but don’t let that fool you – I do still like to play with my toys every now and then! Also, I’m a very relaxed girl. I don’t mind being brushed at all, and really enjoy attention. I love to purr, and would be so happy with a family that can give me a lot of pets! I have a lot of love to give and when you pass by my kennel at Wayside, I like to talk, too! I just like to remind people to stop by and say hello to me!  My friends at Wayside call me a Sidekick because I like to be around my people, but also like to do my own thing from time to time. Do you think I could be your furever sidekick? I hope to meet you soon!”

“Hi Folks! I’m Jenny! I’m a big lug of a tenderhearted  girl with so much to offer. I’m a 64-pound lab mix with a soft butterscotch-colored coat. I’ve had a bit of a ruff time. I originally came to Wayside from another shelter in Kansas City. I was adopted into what was supposed to be my furever home, but times got tough and they couldn’t keep me so I’m back here at Wayside. They’re taking great care of me here, but I just want to be back home living with a wonderful family. Even though I’m seven years old, I’ve still got plenty of energy and spunk. I’m active and relish a daily brisk walk. Big bonus is that I’m housetrained! That’s one thing you won’t get with a puppy! I’m also super smart and easy to train because I’m so treat motivated. I already know sit, shake and down and have almost mastered roll over! Your friends will be so impressed! I’m friendly, affectionate and enjoy people. I crave physical contact and would be a lap dog if I could. Oh, how I long to snuggle on the couch with my head in your lap. I love my humans, but I’m looking for a home without other canine friends. I will be a loyal and devoted pet and am ready to give you years of love and adoration. Can I be your dog?”

“Well, hello there…I’m Matilda! Thanks for taking time to learn more about me. As you can see from my photos and video, I’m a pretty, medium-sized, tan & red torbie girl. I transferred here from another shelter, and even though I haven’t been here all that long, I’ve really settled in to the routine here. I love all the attention and playtime I’ve been getting! My personality type is “Leader of the Band.” That means I’m an adventurous, confident girl. I’m very good at giving and receiving affection, and boy do I love to play with toys! You should know that I’ve tested FIV positive, but no worries. That just means I’ll need to have regular vet visits and good, nutritious food to make sure I stay healthy. And of course, I should be kept indoors where it’s safe. I’m currently residing in the “Meow Mansion” on the adoption floor at Wayside, so come on out and look me up.  Let’s spend some time getting to know each other. And who knows….we just might be a perfect match.”
