Please welcome our Waifs of the Week: Big Buddy, Moses, and Jerry!

“Hi guys! My name is Big Buddy and I’m a 10-month-old fella. I came to Wayside Waifs from another shelter and I’m extremely grateful to be in good hands here! Even though I’m a young pup, I’m highly intelligent and know the command “Sit”. I could benefit from basic obedience training to add more commands to my skill set. I’m a huge lover of toys, so the more toys, the happier I’ll be. Since I love toys so much, they tend to become a distraction, but don’t worry, I’ll still give you all the attention you deserve! I’m very friendly towards humans and my fellow canine counterparts. If you already have any canine family members, I recommend you bring them in to meet me before taking me home. If you’re searching for a future best friend, look no further and come and ask to meet me!”

“’Holy Moses!’ is what you might say when you first lay eyes on me. That’s because I’m one big beautiful kitty — a kitty who is waiting ever so patiently to find my new forever home. I’ve come to Wayside because my previous family could no longer care for me. I’m used to a home with kids and a small dog — but no big dogs please, they scare me. My feline-ality is Personal Assistant, so you’ll never have to worry about being lonely. I’ll be at your side while you get all your chores done, then hop up on your lap when it’s time to relax. I don’t like to brag, but I’m pretty darn popular with the volunteers and staff here at Wayside. You’ll hear words like “gentle,” “sweet,” and “affectionate” tossed around as they describe their interactions with me. Please know that my initial testing indicated that I’m FIV+. That just means I’ll need a good healthy diet, regular vet visits, and an indoors-only lifestyle. An adoption counselor can answer any questions you may have. If you’re ready for a special new addition to your family, let’s get the conversation started. I’ll be right here inside the “Purr Palace” eagerly awaiting your visit. Can’t wait to meet you.”

“Howdy! My name is Jerry. I’m a five-year-old fella looking for a family to call my own. I came to Wayside from another shelter. Starting over can be scary but I know this is my last stop before I find my forever home. I’m a sweet boy who likes attention. I would love to be able to run and play and go on adventures. I’ve done well as a running dog with some of Wayside’s volunteers. Maybe we can go explore the neighborhood together? I’m also pretty smart. I know “Come”, “Sit”, and “Stay”. I bet with some treats we can learn some more things together! I’m pretty serious about my food, so I’ll need a home where I’ve got a safe space to eat away from kiddos and other animals. I don’t want to accidentally hurt someone. Speaking of kiddos, I would do best in a home with children over the age of five. If you’re looking for a new best pal, I just might be the dog for you. I’ll be waiting for you at Wayside! Come on down and ask to meet me!”
