Meet our Waifs of the Week! Penny, Sheba, and Clark are looking for their forever homes!
Hi there! My name is Penny and I’m a sweet one-year-old gal looking for my forever home.
I’m an energetic girl and I’m looking to find a family who will give me the physical and mental exercise I need. I would do best in a home with kiddos over the age of five. I can get pretty excited and I don’t want to accidentally knock someone over and hurt them.
I love treats and I promise if you throw me a few I’ll learn tricks and commands very quickly.
I’m friendly and social. I make friends with just about anyone I meet. I love giving kisses and getting belly rubs. I get pretty excited when I see a leash because I know that means we’re going outside! I love exploring and sniffing everything! I think it would be great to go on a run or a walk around the neighborhood with you!
If you’ve got other canine friends I do ask that you bring them with you when you visit the shelter. I’d love to meet them and ensure we’d all be a good fit for each other.

I am Sheba, and I am so glad you want to know a bit more about me. I would like to share a bit of my story if that is ok. I was a stray with no home. I had no safe place to sleep and never enough to eat. To make matters worse, I was pregnant. After my kitten was born I was lucky enough to end up at Wayside Waifs. My kitten was old enough to go to a foster home without me. Now I have a safe, warm place to sleep and plenty of good food. The staff and volunteers are so nice to me. As nice as it is here, I would really like to have a family of my own; that is something I have always dreamed about.
At 1 1/2 years old I am really just a kitten myself. I only weigh 7 pounds and have a beautiful black and white coat. Right now I am a bit shy, but once I am comfortable in my new home, I will be braver. You just wait and see!

Hi! It’s nice to meet you! My name is Clark and I’m a one-year-old gal looking for my forever home. I came to Wayside when my last shelter ran out of space. Moving around has been scary but everyone here is so nice. I know it won’t be long until I find my very own family to love.
I’m a friendly girl and I love making new friends. I just love people so much! I don’t really like hugs. Being restrained scares me a bit. I’d do best in a home with kiddos over the age of five. Young children might not understand that I need some space.
My friends here tell me that I do well on a leash. I love spending time outdoors! There’s so much to see and smell! Maybe we could check out a park or explore the neighborhood together? I’m up for anything as long as I’m with you.
