Please meet our Waifs of the Week: Boone, Pepper Ann, and Tobias! These three amazing animals are ready to finally meet their fur-ever families!
Hey There, I’m Boone!
Have you ever heard that song..I ain’t nuthin’ but a hound dog??? Well that is so not true. I am way more than a hound dog. I am a loving friend. I was transferred to Wayside when my last shelter ran out of space for me…I am a little on the larger side. That is ok though because I know my forever family will come find me soon here.
At 4 years old I am way past the puppy stage, but they say hounds are always puppies at heart. I am 50 pounds of brown-eyed adorableness! I don’t really know any commands yet but would love to learn with some yummy treats. I walk pretty well on a leash, but at times my nose may lead me off the beaten path.
If you would like a cuddle buddy who also enjoys the great outdoors, please come meet me. Bring the whole family (canines too) to ensure we all get along well.
Hope to see you real soon!
Your Friend, Boone
Hey there! Thanks for wanting to know more about me, you won’t regret it! Well, my name is Pepper Ann, and I am 5 years old with baby green eyes and the softest fur. I came to Wayside as a transfer, but I am excited to be here because I know being at Wayside will let me cross paths with you!
My friends here at Wayside like to call me the Leader of the Band. This means I like to rule the house. I am very brave and always put off my ray of confidence, but don’t let this fool you because I am still a sucker for affection! I will keep you warm with hugs and your heart filled with purrs. Toys don’t intrigue me too much, but we can make up for that with more love and adventure!
As long as I can get time to do both of my favorite things, I think we will be a perfect match! Please come visit me at Wayside where I’m sure we will get along great!
Hugs and purrs, Pepper Ann
Hi there, I’m Tobias! I’m sweet and playful and goofy and so very friendly. I can’t wait to be your best friend. I’m an adorable, 2 year old, 52 pound bundle of love, with a bright smile and soft, shiny fur. I came to Wayside as a stray. It was so nice to feel safe and cared for, but everything at the shelter was new and strange to me. I was feeling a little shy and unsure, when my one of the vet techs picked me up and carried me into the exam room for vaccinations and whatnot. Afterwards, I looked at her and gave her the sweetest kiss. That’s the sort of dog I am and I love to make people smile. I’m fortunate that I’m social and I make new friends easy, so I’m getting along just great at Wayside! But what I really want is a forever home.
I’m an easy dog to love, because I’m so much fun. I love to play with toys and throw them in the air and chase after them. It’s quite entertaining to watch me play. I also love tasty treats, which helps in my training. I’m smart and I love to learn, so please teach me! If you praise me when I’m a good boy, I’ll quickly learn what you expect from me and I’ll be all over it. I love to go for walks and I do just great on my leash, always staying right by your side. I’d be happy to help keep you motivated to stay in shape by being your walking partner. You might notice that I have sort of a strange gait when I walk or run. The Wayside docs gave me a thorough check up and everything looked good. I’m not in any pain and it doesn’t bother me or slow me down at all, so I hope you won’t pass me by just because I’m a little different. Anyway, after my daily exercise, there’s no place I’d rather be than by your side just hanging out and enjoying the day. I’m affectionate and social and I love to soak up all the attention you’ll give me.
Sometimes I get to be the helper dog during Wayside training sessions. It’s a special privilege and I get chosen because I’m patient and tolerant and I love everyone I come in contact with. I don’t even mind when they practice putting the harness on and then taking it off multiple times. I just like the attention! I’m curious about and playful with other dogs. I’ve been practicing my doggy social skills and learning to listen when they correct me. If you have another dog, I’d love to meet them before we go home together, just to make sure we get along great.
I can’t wait to meet you and hopefully share my life with you! I’m such a good boy and you’re the only thing that’s missing from my life. Hope to see you soon!
Love, Tobias
