Happy Waif Wednesday! Meet our wonderful Waifs of the Week: Apollo, Kitty, and Emerald. One of our original Waifs of the Week, Toby, got adopted, so Emerald is happily taking his place. These three cuties can’t wait to find their people!
Hi folks! I’m Apollo, a handsome five-year-old guy in search of a safe place to land. I was transferred here when my previous shelter ran out of space for me. All this change can be a little scary, but I know it’ll all be worth it when my family finally finds me.
The people here at Wayside say I’m a sweet fellow and a perfect gentleman. I’ve got beautiful leash skills and will stay right by your side when we go for walks together. I really enjoy exploring hiking trails and sniffing all the wonderful smells and fresh air in the great outdoors. I’m also an excellent running partner! I’m smart and already know the commands “sit,” “lay down,” and “shake,” and I would love to find a home that will continue to train and teach me. Maybe we could join a class together?
I can’t wait to be your new dog! Won’t you please come meet me soon? Be sure to bring any other canine kids along to be sure we’re all a perfect match.

Who’s black and white and beautiful all over? Why me, Kitty! I’m one of the prettiest girls at Wayside, or so I have heard. I came to Wayside from another shelter that was low on space. Moving around can be scary, but I am so glad to be here, safe and snug, while I wait for my forever person or people to walk through the doors, find me and fall in love!
When I had my Felineality assessment here at Wayside, they told me I am Personal Assistant. That means I am moderately brave in new situations, and I love and need the companionship of humans. Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, I will want to be right by your side, ready to lend a beautiful fluffy paw. You will wonder how you ever got along without me!

Hi everyone, my name is Emerald! Yes, I do believe I was named that as I am a true gem of a gal! I was brought in as a stray, and am so happy to be in a place where the nice people take good care of me, but what I dream of is a home of my very own.
Some words I hear people say to describe me are: super Sweet, friendly, social, and smart. I think those are all true for sure! I am even currently being used in a Clicker Training class here at Wayside and am doing very well. My teacher is very proud of me! I also love when humans praise me as that makes me feel really special. I am a great size at around 60 pounds, so I should fit well in the car, on road trips or even on your bed if you would like that, I know I would!
I walk very nicely on leash and hope we can take nice evening strolls around town together. Please come meet me soon, bring the whole family (dogs too)
